Process And Schedule

From A Signed Brief To Files Your Team Can Use.

Most projects take 3 to 5 weeks from signed brief to final delivery. The schedule works when decisions, access and review comments are planned before the filming day.

01 · Starting Point

What POV Needs Before Quoting

A useful enquiry does not need to be polished, but it should say what the film has to achieve. POV needs to know the intended audience, filming location, rough deadline, number of films, likely contributors, any scripts or existing material, and whether the work is for a website, internal platform, LMS or bid submission.

  • Type of film and the decision it needs to support.
  • Location, site constraints and any access requirements.
  • Rough dates for filming, review and delivery.
  • Known compliance, consent or brand requirements.

02 · Pre-Production

The Plan Is Written Before The Camera Is Packed

Pre-production usually includes a brief call, filming plan, schedule, risk notes and interview questions. If scripts are supplied by the client, POV checks them for timing and filmability. If the brief is still loose, the planning work identifies what must be shown, who can say it accurately and what needs approval before filming.

  • Brief call to agree audience, message and practical constraints.
  • Filming plan with locations, contributors and running order.
  • Basic risk notes for filming in live workplaces.
  • Interview questions written to avoid vague corporate answers.

03 · Filming Day

Controlled Arrival, Small Footprint, Clear Permissions

The crew arrives with the agreed kit and checks in with the named site contact. Sound is tested before interviews. Lighting is kept compact enough for offices, factories and training rooms. Staff who are identifiable on camera must be briefed and permissioned. Live areas are filmed with respect for production, safety and the people doing the work.

  • Arrival and setup times agreed in the filming schedule.
  • Radio mics, boom or recorders selected for the environment.
  • Consent checked for identifiable staff and visitors.
  • Changes on the day logged so the edit brief stays accurate.

04 · Editing

First Cut, Review, Captions And Practical Amendments

The first cut concentrates on structure, accuracy and pace. Music is licensed where it helps the film, not because silence is frightening. Graphics are kept simple: lower thirds, short labels, captions and clean diagrams. Review comments work best when one person gathers them into a single list before POV returns to the edit.

  • First cut supplied for factual, compliance and tone review.
  • Two rounds of amendments included in the overview package.
  • Captions prepared where commissioned, with SRT files supplied.
  • Simple graphics used for names, roles, steps and diagrams.

05 · Delivery

Clean Handover And A Known Archive Period

Final files are supplied as H.264 MP4 in 1080p or 4K. SRT caption files are included when captions are commissioned. POV keeps project media for 12 months after delivery, which is enough for most version requests and minor future edits. Long-term archive can be added at £120 + VAT per project per year.

  • Master files delivered for web, internal comms or LMS upload.
  • Clean exports can be supplied when graphics need future localisation.
  • Media retained by POV for 12 months after delivery.
  • Archive extension available at £120 + VAT per project per year.
